The double din fascia kit will fit all MK1 TT variants from 1998 - 2006, both left and right hand drive.

There are a few different wiring options available for the MK1 TT depending on your OEM setup. We do not supply wiring for the MK1 TT due to the variations. We advise removing the original stereo prior to purchasing any wiring to identify what plugs are present in the vehicle, then contacting your local stereo shop to purchase. This ensures any wiring issues, incorrect wiring or returns you may have are able to be resolved efficiently, while also supporting your local stereo shop.

There is only one modification required to the vehicle to carry out this installation. There is a plastic air duct behind the centre console that a regular full depth double din stereo will slightly foul. The body of the stereo will make contact in the bottom left corner. You will be able to identify this easily when carrying out the installation. A small notch will need to be cut to allow clearance.

If you would like to carry out the installation without having to do this modification, you could use what's known as a shallow double din stereo. This has the same overall nose dimensions, so a full size screen, but a half depth body. Using a stereo like this will ensure the stereo does not foul the duct, and would actually leave you more room for your wiring to sit.

The fascia is held securely in position by the metal knee rests. These bolt through the fascia into a metal frame attached to the vehicle.

Your stereo will come with a packet of screws which are used to mount the stereo to the stereo tabs. The fascia will be delivered with the stereo tabs already attached to it. It is advised that you do not remove these as they're pre-aligned. Your stereo is likely to come with a stereo cage as well, this is not needed for this install, neither is the black trim ring that affixes to the front of the stereo.

Any stereo that is standard double din size will fit this kit with screens ranging from 6.2" to 7". It is common that Chinese like Xtrons, or non-branded stereos do not follow industry-standard sizing for the screen size or 'nose' size, so they will not be compatible with this fascia.

I always recommend using a reputable brand such as Kenwood, Pioneer, Alpine, Sony etc, as they do follow the standard sizing for their screens. The opening on the fascia has been designed following the industry standard sizing.

No, this fascia is not 3D printed. This is a common misconception with most of our products. Although we do use 3D printers at RTA, we rarely use them to manufacture for end products. We will however use them for one-off end products, or small parts within kits or other miscellaneous parts.

The fascia is made out of polyurethane resin, which is cast into a silicone mould. All production from design, prototyping, mould making and manufacturing is carried out entirely in-house.
